Telegram adds group video calls and screen sharing

Video from the camera or screen view can be turned on in any group voice chat.

To turn a voice chat into a group video call, any participant must enable video mode by clicking the camera icon. It is available to the first 30 connected participants, but the limit is planned to be increased.

The video can be expanded to full screen, and you can pin the video of any person you’re talking to, so the camera won’t switch to new members.

You can also turn on screen sharing, either separately or together with the camera picture.

Group calls have been optimized for larger screens: the tablet, for example, has a sidebar with a list of participants and video streams.

And on your computer, voice chat opens in a separate window. You can share an image of both the entire desktop and an independent program.

The new version has improved noise suppression, which, if necessary, can be turned off in the settings of voice chat.

In addition to group video call, Telegram has added animated backgrounds for chats, animations when sending messages, a menu button for bots, new options for importing stickers tips on the relevance of data and other improvements.
